Nicole’s Postcard Club
Note: I’m continuing to do mailings to postcard club members, but I’m putting a temporary freeze on new memberships. It’s been growing steadily and the time, energy, and postage expenses involved are becoming overwhelming. But I may consider re-opening the club to new memberships at the end of the year. We shall see. In the meantime, read the information below to find out more.
I’d like for you to consider an admittedly unusual offer: the Nicole Cushing Postcard Club.
Here’s the scoop: Facebook is making it harder and harder to connect with people (relatively few people actually see my posts). And with all the political discussion…meh…I’m starting to grow weary of it. Not saying I’ll bail out completely…but, yeah, I’m getting a little bit of Facebook fatigue. I’ve considered starting an email newsletter (as a better way of connecting with people), but I’m not sure that really is the best way for me to connect with friends/readers, either. I’m not really that tech-savvy, and the whole thing just seems a little too…I don’t know…impersonal. Sterile.
So I’m starting something new: The Nicole Cushing Postcard Club. As some of you know, I’ve been doing this informally, off-and-on, for awhile. When people order books from me, directly, I’ll typically include a strange postcard (usually adorned with a signed self-portrait) in the package. These “self-portraits” are seldom more impressive than doodles (and usually they’re imbued with a sense of the morbid and/or strange). I’ve posted an example here (see above) to give you a sense of what I’m talking about.
But now I want to do this on an ongoing basis for friends and/or readers who want it. So if the postcard above looks like the kind of thing you’d like to have in your mail box once or twice a month, then read on.
The idea I have is that, if you sign up, I will send you a free, weird postcard about 1-2 times a month via snail mail, adorned with a some sort of signed doodle, along with a sentence or two about one of my favorite obscure writers, and some (of course) news about the status of my various writing endeavors.
You will receive nothing else but the postcards.
I will not give your address to anyone else.
To sign up, email me at nicolecushingwriter (at) gmail.com and tell me your address (or message me on Facebook).
