Publishers Weekly Reviews HOW TO EAT FRIED FURRIES

Available In November From Amazon.Com

Yesterday, industry giant Publishers Weekly reviewed my first book, How To Eat Fried Furries.

How cool is that?

Bizarro books – especially those by newer authors – aren’t known for catching the eye of a mainstream reviewer like PW, so I’m considering this a cause for celebration (even if the review itself was ambivalent, declaring the book “uneven”, praising the book for its “promising bite” but then fretting that “the weird humor will likely only appeal to a small niche audience “).

If you’re reading this blog, chances are you’re part of this “niche audience” and appreciative that weird fiction is out there.  So keep hope alive, my friends.  I’m not saying Bizarro will ever be a household word, but our numbers and influence are growing!

So, to date, three reviewers have written about the book. PW’s ambivalent review is joined by Jeff Strand’s review (from all the way back in January), in which he declares “Personally, I enjoyed every f***ed-up page,” and Dark Recesses’ recent review declaring me “a pro who possesses the sharp wit of Donihe, Strand, and Skipp” and encouraging readers to “check this one out!”

Expect more reviews to trickle in as the book nears its release date (11/11/10).
